The “SKUODAS RENEW” Hybrid Renewable Energy Project Presented in Lenkimai

On 7 August, two meetings were held in Skuodas District, during which representatives of the Danish renewable energy company European Energy presented the “SKUODAS RENEW” hybrid renewable energy project being developed in Lenkimai Eldership.
The first meeting took place at the Skuodas District Municipality with representatives of the municipal administration and the eldership. Later, a meeting with the local community was held at the Lenkimai branch of the Skuodas District Culture Centre.
During both meetings, company representatives presented the project concept, additional environmental and social studies that had been carried out, the planned stages of project implementation, as well as the key aspects of the national Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Participants were also introduced to the Environmental and Social Management and Monitoring Plans and the Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
The meetings also addressed issues of importance to the municipality, the eldership and the local community. During the meeting in Lenkimai, participants had the opportunity to express their views, provide feedback and ask questions directly to the project developers.

About the project
“SKUODAS RENEW” is European Energy’s first hybrid renewable energy project in Lithuania combining three technologies. The project will integrate onshore wind turbines, solar power plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS) within a single project area.
Combining these three technologies will enable more efficient use of local renewable energy resources, help balance electricity generation and storage, and contribute to a more reliable electricity system.
The project will contribute to increasing local renewable electricity generation capacity, strengthening Lithuania’s energy independence and reducing the impact of climate change. Based on the projected annual electricity generation, the project is expected to help avoid approximately 160,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.
