Infrastructure Works Begin for the “SKUODAS RENEW” Project

Construction is beginning this week on the 330 kV cable route connecting the Darbėnai substation and the Mančiai substation.

The first phase of works will take place along the section of the route located within Kretinga District Municipality.

This marks an important milestone in the implementation of the “SKUODAS RENEW” project and will contribute to the continued development and strengthening of the region’s electricity transmission infrastructure.

About the project

In Skuodas District, Lenkimai Eldership, Danish renewable energy company European Energy is developing “SKUODAS RENEW” – its first hybrid renewable energy project combining three technologies.

The project will integrate onshore wind power, solar (PV) generation, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

By combining these technologies, the project will enable more efficient use of renewable energy resources, support a more balanced electricity generation profile, and provide greater flexibility for integrating renewable electricity into the transmission system.
